Steps to follow before your exam

Follow these easy steps to make sure you’re prepared for exams.

Step 1: Check iLearn

Keep an eye out for your unit convenor’s announcements about the details of your exam on iLearn.

Step 2: Check the timetable

Check your exam timetable and note your exam dates.

Step 3: Get to know exam types

Familiarise yourself with exam types.

Step 4: If you have an online invigilated exam, read the Zoom guide

Make sure you’ve read (and saved!) the guide for online invigilated zoom exams. It covers a range of topics, including:

  • Equipment testing, and setting up Zoom before your exam
  • Integrity checks (Student ID and room checks) before you commence the exam. You will be asked to show your Student ID to the invigilator and complete a room check to be eligible to take the exam
  • Zoom troubleshooting
  • Contacting your invigilator
  • Conduct during exams
  • Remember to book and sit your practice zoom exam in Week 13 - a practice session booking link will be emailed to your MQ student email account in Week 11.

Note: the link to your allocated Zoom exam room will appear in your personal exam timetable after the Wednesday prior to the exam period and the zoom room link will be sent to your Macquarie University student email account closer to the exam date.

Step 5: Get a refresher on academic integrity

Make sure you are aware of your responsibilities when it comes to academic integrity.

Step 6: Know how to get support

Check out our exam support page, for how to access support during or after an exam.

Good luck for your exams!
