Requirements for graduation

Before you graduate you will need to fill out the 'I Expect to Complete' form to ensure that you have fulfilled the necessary requirements for graduation.

Expect to complete

You should submit an 'I Expect to Complete' form via AskMQ in your final year of study, nominating when you want to be assessed for completion of your award.

Submitting this form does not guarantee that you will meet award requirements, it only ensures your record will be checked.

The University will not contact you if you do not meet the requirements of your award and your program status will remain as admitted.

Award assessment

You will be assessed for completion after the exam results are released.

Award qualification

If you meet all award requirements you will be qualified. A Completion Letter via the platform My eQuals will be emailed to your student email address within two business days of qualifying.

If you meet all award requirements you will be qualified. A Completion Letter will be emailed to your student email address within two business days of qualifying via the platform My eQuals. This letter is a notification of your completion and will state the month and year your award will be conferred.

You will need to wait until you receive the Graduation Invitation for details of your ceremony as well as modifying your attendance in eStudent.

Graduation invitation

Your graduation is an exciting milestone – a memorable day to celebrate your time at Macquarie University and the completion of your course.

If you are eligible to attend a graduation ceremony, your Graduation Invitation will be sent to your @students.mq.edu.au email address approximately six weeks before your graduation series. The invitation will address relevant information regarding your graduation ceremony.

You will be invited to a future graduation ceremony, please check your student email periodically for more information.

Hard copies of your testamur and academic transcript will be kept at the University and an email will be sent letting you know when you can request these documents.

For students who have not been conferred, kindly check that your name and award are correct in eStudent and if you require a change, send us an email. If your name needs to be changed, send through a copy of your passport, birth certificate or name change certificate.
