Congratulations! Your graduation is an important milestone – a memorable day to celebrate your time at Macquarie and the completion of your course.
We look forward to inviting you to a graduation ceremony with your peers, family and friends to celebrate your wonderful achievements with Macquarie University.
Refer to the below table to check which ceremony series you will likely be invited to, based on your conferral date.
Please note that the below dates are subject to change, and your ceremony date is not confirmed until you receive an invitation. We strongly advise against booking any flights or accommodation until you receive your invitation and have RSVP'd by completing the Graduation Fee payment.
Once a schedule is confirmed for your graduation series, we will send an invitation to your student email account. This will approximately be 6 to 8 weeks before your ceremony series.

*Students who are indebted to the University will not be invited to a ceremony until their debt is cleared
A $249 fee is required to attend your graduation ceremony. This includes the hire of your graduation regalia and two complimentary guest tickets.
We look forward to seeing you on our stage so please ensure you do not have any outstanding debts. If you are indebted to the University, you will not be permitted to graduate until your debt is cleared. Graduation allocation is subject to all debts being cleared prior to the qualification cut-off date.
Please check eStudent to ensure your name is correct. You may be liable for a name change replacement fee if your name is incorrect after your graduation documents are printed.
You may defer your graduation once, for up to 12 months. Permission to defer your ceremony can only be requested after you receive your graduation invitation. Please refer to your Ceremony Invitation for further instructions and deadlines for deferral requests. Requests will be assessed based on compelling personal, professional, medical, cultural or academic reasons.

Requests to defer your ceremony submitted after the commencement of your current graduation allocation will be declined.
If you are graduating with a postgraduate certificates, study abroad diploma or certificate you will not be invited to attend a graduation ceremony. Please refer to your Conferring of degrees email to nominate via the form on how you would like to receive your hard copy graduation documents. If you do not indicate your preference by the deadline specified in the email, we will automatically 'Mail' your documents to the preferred address listed in eStudent.
It is your responsibility to ensure your mailing details are kept current at all times. Ensure you check your preferred postal address on eStudent before completing your course.
Graduates invited to the upcoming graduation series will receive their invitation 6 to 8 weeks prior.
Graduates who do not attend their allocated graduation OR have not responded to the invitation are considered to have declined to attend and will not be invited to any subsequent ceremony. Your documents will be held by the Graduations Team until you nominate how you would like to receive your documents.
