Check your study goals
Use our course guidance to help you understand and plan your studies to make sure you're on the right path.
Macquarie University has a range of resources available to help students understand their courses and make informed decisions about their studies. This self-help tool helps you find the resources you need to understand your course, its requirements, or the effects of making changes to your degree.
Processing times
The expected processing time for a course guidance enquiry is 4 weeks. If you need a faster response, we suggest you work through the steps recommended in the tool yourself.
If your enquiry is related to enrolment issues for specific units, and you do not require a Course Progression check, we recommend you complete the Enrolment Support Form instead. The expected processing time for Enrolment Support requests is between 5 to 10 working days.
Course Guidance Tool
The course guidance tool has three sections:
1. Academic Progression
- Learn about Academic Standing
- Complete required actions to lift an Academic Standing sanction (for students on Monitored Enrolment or Probation)
2. Understanding changes to my course
- Learn about Course Transfers (changing from one degree to another)
- Learn how making changes to your Major, Minor, or Specialisation can affect your studies
3. Requirements for my current course
- Learn how to determine your remaining units to plan your studies
- You should have completed at least half of your course prior to requesting a progression check.
Students in specific circumstances can also be referred for additional course support through this tool.
