Begin your degreeĀ on the right foot
Congratulations on completing your journey with Macquarie University College!
We’re so excited to take this final step with you by equipping you with everything you need to succeed in the next stage of your studies at Macquarie University.
Set yourself up for success with the Academic Transition Program
The Academic Transition Program will help you take on your next academic adventure and start your studies with a bang! Over the program you will attend guest lectures, skill-shops and events created to equip you with skills so you can move into your degree and beyond with confidence.
During the Program you will:
- develop new skills in critical thinking, study management, and career development
- learn the important differences between College and Faculty study
- attend guest lectures by some of Macquarie’s best and brightest
- learn how to manage yourself and wellbeing to study, and live, well
- and participate in a range of social activities!
Can’t wait to find out exactly what’s planned? Don’t worry – if you are eligible to attend the upcoming Program, you will be emailed a registration link and we'll send you a full program of events once your registration is confirmed. Events may not run every day, and could take place in person or online.
Make the most of the Learning Skills support available to you
We’re going to cover a lot of useful information as part of the Academic Transition Program, so you should make every effort to attend.
As a taste of what's ahead, here are some top tips you will learn to help you prepare for your degree.
Catch Up on missed Kickstart information
Make sure you attend Kickstart, which occurs the week before your first classes – this is where you can learn all about your new Faculty and, importantly, any support that is available to you.
If you are not able to attend Kickstart, don’t worry – MQ has developed the handy online module ‘MAC2025' to catch you up on the most important information. Remember: you are responsible for catching up on any information you have missed, so be sure to access the module in iLearn.
Access Wellbeing support if needed
Don’t wait until your first major exam stress kicks in! If you’ve struggled with your studies in the past but have not accessed support before, be sure to learn about the many personal support options Macquarie has available to help you, such as our free Counselling and Welfare Service. If you feel you need extra support to complete your assessments, you should also look into Accessibility Support, who can look at authorising reasonable adjustments for your assessments if required.
