Reporting general misconduct

General misconduct is when a student or student organisation engages in conduct that is prohibited under the Student Code of Conduct, or any other University regulation.

You can notify Macquarie of incidents involving general misconduct. You can also make a complaint about a service or experience or provide feedback to help us improve.

General misconduct includes, but is not limited to:

  • Disruption and harm
  • Dishonesty
  • Breaching safety measures
  • Breaching rights
  • Consumption of alcohol and drugs
  • Affecting property
  • Failing to cooperate with authorities

The Student Code of Conduct is supported by Student Discipline Rules. All students have the responsibility to comply with them.

Advice and support

Student Advocacy and Support Service provides independent support and advice regarding your options to make or respond to an allegation of misconduct. To contact Advocacy submit a Student CARE MQ Referral form > select “Advocacy Support” as the reason for referral.

If you are required to respond to an allegation of misconduct, you can get advice and support from student advocacy and support team.
