Resources and information for enrolling into units

Continuing your studies or starting at Macquarie in 2024? View important enrolment information below.

Need assistance?

We have developed the Enrolment Guidance & Troubleshooting Form based on common questions and problems some students face when enrolling. Simply answer a few questions and select the relevant issue you are experiencing – you’ll either be presented with the relevant information or a link to the relevant form to complete.

Service Connect can get very busy in the lead up to enrolment – reviewing the information and tutorials may save you time and answer your questions before you need to contact us.

Enrolment and class registration information sessions

Join our free information and support sessions which will run you through everything you need for enrolment and class registration. These sessions will be run on campus at Ground Floor 18 Wally’s Walk Macquarie University from 15 July to 26 July. Registration is not needed for these sessions so please feel free to drop by.

For enrolment into units, look at:

All Students:

  • I can’t enrol
  • I don’t know what to enrol in
  • I can’t enrol into a particular unit
  • I want to enrol in more than the allowable credit points
  • I want to enrol in less than the full time study load

Continuing Students (commenced before Session 2 2024)

  • I’ve enrolled or completed a unit using the wrong zone (core or flexible) on my study plan)
  • I would like extra space for enrolment
  • I want to remove credit that I have received

Known Enrolment Issue for Session 2

Unit scheduled for future year (e.g. 2030) If a unit is displayed as scheduled for a future year (e.g. 2027 or 2030) this will prevent you from enrolling into it, stating that there are no study periods available. You can check to see if the unit is scheduled for a future year by clicking on the unit in the Manage my Course page or Plan and Enrol page.

If the unit is part of an elective option set or is a flexible zone unit, please remove the unit from your study plan and then add it back. This should resolve the error. If the unit is part of the core zone and you do not have the option to remove it, please submit the Enrolment Guidance and Troubleshooting form, noting the unit you have the problem with.

For class registration, look at:

  • I want to change my class from online to in person
  • I cannot find an available class to register in

Other:

  • I am having difficulties with eStudent
  • I want to return early from LOA (Leave of Absence)
  • I want to change my minor/major/specialisation

If none of these answer your questions you may be able to submit an enquiry. Please DO NOT also submit a duplicate enrolment enquiry in AskMQ, as this will delay our ability to investigate and respond.
