Work-integrated learning
The Professional and Community Engagement program (PACE) engages undergraduate students in real-world learning activities with organisations across Australia and around the globe.
PACE is Macquarie’s flagship Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) program – the key way students connect academic study with real-world experience through practical, community and industry projects.
Gain invaluable practical experience that employers value.
PACE will help you stand out from other graduates by giving you the opportunity to build your skills and ability to adapt in a rapidly changing world. All Macquarie University bachelor degrees include at least one PACE unit where you will:
- engage in a practical learning activity
- explore key economic, social and ethical challenges
- learn about how contemporary organisations address these challenges
- contribute your knowledge, ideas and fresh perspective to support your host organisation’s mission and objectives.
PACE activities
We have a vast network of more than 3000 government, non-government, industry and not-for-profit host organisations both within Australia and around the world. Within these organisations, common PACE activities include:
- internships
- practicums
- fieldwork
- community projects
- collaborative research
- industry projects.
