Improve graduate outcomes at Macquarie

The Graduate Outcomes Survey (GOS) is a national survey of recent higher education graduates conducted for the Australian Government Department of Education, Skills and Employment.

The survey closed on 28 November.

The GOS measures short-term employment outcomes including skills utilisation, further study activities and graduate satisfaction.

Past feedback

Graduate outcomes and satisfaction

  • 81 per cent of graduates who were looking for work were employed within four months
  • 20 per cent of graduates were enrolled in further full-time study in bachelor, master or doctoral courses
  • Seven out of 10 graduates were working as managers or professionals
  • 77 per cent of graduates expressed overall satisfaction with course quality

Satisfaction with skills and graduate attributes

  • 88 per cent of employed graduates expressed satisfaction with the foundation skills they learned from their course
  • 86 per cent of employed graduates expressed satisfaction with the adaptive skills they learned from their course
  • 80 per cent of employed graduates expressed satisfaction with the collaborative skills they learned from their course
  • 72 per cent of graduates mentioned that Macquarie prepared them well for their current employment

  • Created more on-demand learning content to support your online learning
  • Offering alumni loyalty discounts for further study options
  • Implemented the Student Success Support Package offering financial support to students in need
  • Additional learning skills staff hired to help students develop their skills and run more workshops to support students
  • Offered more online career and employment workshops, tools and resources to support employability skills and job readiness
  • Provided more jobs for students as well as graduates roles that you have access to up to 12 months after graduation through MQ Student Employment
  • Implemented a new ePortfolio tool for students to collate their achievements during their studies and for their future careers
  • Pivoted key work integrated learning and leadership programs, such as GLP and PACE, to ensure students could continue to develop employability skills
