The Enterprise and the Environment Summer School is a two-week program at the University of Oxford for undergraduate and graduate students that are passionate about leading environmental change. The Summer School draws upon the research, faculty and networks from the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment to provide a unique and authentic Oxford experience. The program includes over 50 hours of learning that is provided through combinations of debate, case-studies, role-plays, tutorials, lectures and field trips. Content across the Summer School will approach the critical environmental challenges of the 21st century through the lenses of economics, finance and business practices.

The Summer School combines Oxford's world class faculty, cutting edge research and expert practitioners; they will explore topics with you such as environmental economics and policy, enterprise management, financial markets and investment to approach critical environmental challenges in the 21st century.

Program Fee

Tuition and program fees paid directly to Oxford. Fee includes all teaching, several organised social activities, accommodation and several meals. The fee doesn't include the cost of travel to and from Oxford, visas, insurance or personal expenses.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for this program, you must meet the following:

  • Macquarie Abroad General Eligibility Criteria
  • Nomination from Macquarie University
  • English language proficiency for non-native speakers
  • Review the course information and restricted courses to check it is suitable for your degree progression at Macquarie University

Important notes:

Application Fee and Payment Options: For all exchange programs (semester and short term), there is a compulsory application fee. For more information and payment options please refer to the Payment Website.

Logistics Fees: See host University website for fees.

Insurance: It is a requirement of the exchange program that all students must purchase their own travel insurance to cover them for the duration of their entire journey overseas. More information will be given to students upon acceptance.

Program Costs: As a study abroad student you pay tuition fees to host university. As such, you will not be enrolled at Macquarie for the duration of your overseas studies. Program cost are listed on the host university website. You must also always be prepared for unexpected expenses, and should consider how you will be dealing with the expenses of your exchange before you leave your home country. Prior to departure, you will need to save sufficient funds to cover all of your expenses for the duration of your exchange. Some costs to consider include: airfares, students visa (if required), travel health insurance, accommodation, food, additional travel, entertainment, textbooks, incidental expense. If you wish to work while you are away, it is important to note that work rights for international students vary from country to country. For further information about your visa restrictions please contact the consulate or embassy of your host country.
