How to make changes to your personal details

Before you apply

Here are some things to be mindful of before applying to change your details:

  • Changes to official information (first name, family name, date of birth) require a certified photocopy of official documentation as supporting documentation.
  • International Students need both Passport and Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO) document (certification not required for VEVO)
  • OUA students need to make changes with OUA directly.

Personal details you can update without supporting documents:

  • Change of title, eg. Ms/Mx/Mr/Blank
  • Preferred name

Personal details you can update with uncertified supporting documents:

  • Change of gender
    • The document needs to show your gender and can be a letter from your GP or health practitioner, NSW Change of Name documentation, birth certificate, or passport.

Quick tip: You can update your address and phone number in eStudent – just log in and click “My details->Contact details”

  • Any changes you request will appear exactly as you have submitted them and are case sensitive. So ensure you use capitals and correct punctuation where necessary as these details will appear on all official documentation.
