Deferring your graduation
If you want to attend a ceremony but can’t attend on your allocated date, you can apply to defer your ceremony.
To be eligible to defer you must:
- only defer once, for up to 12 months
- have compelling personal, medical, cultural or academic reasons
- provide supporting evidence.
Note: Graduates approved for a ceremony deferral will be invited to a December ceremony.
If you find you can't attend your graduation ceremony, you can also graduate in absentia.
