Information for domestic students on prac placements
The Australian Government has established a payment to support students on prac placements.
The Commonwealth Prac Payment (CPP) provides financial support to eligible domestic (Australian) students undertaking mandatory placements. This includes placements in
- teaching
- nursing
- midwifery and
- social work.
The weekly payment of $331.65 is available to domestic (Australian) students who meet the eligibility criteria.
Commonwealth Prac Payment is available to eligible students from July 2025.
