Build your confidence with ASC: Ask a Study Coach

ASC is a student-led service available to all undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students.

ASC coaches are senior Macquarie students trained to provide academic writing support and to give advice on effective study strategies, such as managing your time and reading effectively.

ASC coaches can help you with:

  • academic writing
  • analysing assignment questions
  • referencing
  • study strategies
  • strategies for research

ASC coaches can't:

  • give advice relating to course content
  • provide proofreading or ‘fix up’ assignments for you
  • teach English

ASC coaches are Macquarie students who are here to help you with your study skills and academic writing. Please be mindful that the advice given during a consultation is to assist you in your learning and that the instructions by your tutors and lecturers take precedence.

Accessing an ASC consultation

You can access ASC consultations either online or on-campus through a drop in service.  Each consultation is 20-25 minutes long.  It’s helpful to have your assignment questions, unit guides and/or assignment draft ready before your consultation.

On-campus drop-ins

Come and see an ASC coach at the Thrive Hub in 18 Wally's Walk. Turn left after entering the front doors. No bookings necessary.
