Student Department Representative

A Department Representative is a delegated student representative for the Macquarie Business School who represents the student perspective in Department and Faculty decision-making.

"This activity has been approved to be recognised on AHEGS as of October 2018. No retrospective recognition will be made prior to this approval date."

AHEGS qualification criteria

Students are required to:

  • have previous experience as a Unit Rep
  • commit to minimum of 1 semester or maximum of 2 semesters in the role
  • attend a minimum of 2 hours of recruitment for new Unit Reps before semester starts
  • present and promote the Student Rep Program in at least 3 lectures during O week
  • assist in FBE Orientation stall during O Week to promote the Program
  • plan and organise meetings with allocated unit group of Unit Reps at least twice a semester (minimum of 6 meetings in total)
  • mentor and assist with report writing with Unit Reps (minimum of 6 reports per semester)
  • attend meetings
  • attend at least 1 social event involving the program
  • attend a 2-hour planning day to discuss semester activities
  • be committed and involved in decision making in the Student Nominated Teaching Award
  • provide ideas and suggestions to the Faculty and Departments, when required.
