MQ Learning and Teaching (MQLT), Student Assistant
MQLT Student Assistants work on Learning and Teaching events, working groups, and administrative tasks that will assist with the implementation of Learning and Teaching initiatives.
"This activity has been approved to be recognised on AHEGS as of August 2020. No retrospective recognition will be made prior to this approval date."
AHEGS qualification criteria
- Apply through Macquarie Student Employment (MQSE)
- Appointed in 6 month terms and required to work between 100-150 hours during this period
- Currently enrolled in a Macquarie University undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree with a credit average
- Panellist on the Assessment Panel for the Annual Vice-Chancellor’s Learning and Teaching Awards
- Join working groups on learning and teaching initiatives
- Attend student focus groups to provide feedback on various learning and teaching initiatives
- Promoting Learning and Teaching initiatives to the Macquarie student community
- Provide administrative assistance on learning and teaching initiatives
- Assist at Learning and Teaching events
Skills required or developed
Provide an opportunity for Macquarie current students, both undergraduate and postgraduate, who want to make a difference at Macquarie University by participating in learning and teaching initiatives.
This is a “student as partners” initiative that engages students to contribute to the planning and enhancement of their learning and engagement.
This opportunity will also provide students with casual employment and enable them to enhance their communication, team-work and inter-personal skills.
