Mentor - Macquarie University Mentors

As a Mentor in the Macquarie University Mentoring Program, your role is to guide new students into the social, academic, geographical and administrative aspects of university life.

"This activity has been approved to be recognised on AHEGS as of April 2018. No retrospective recognition will be made prior to this approval date."

AHEGS qualification criteria

Student must have completed at least one session of full-time study at Macquarie University and be enrolled in at least one internal unit for the Session.

  • Attend, support and actively promote Mentor-Mentee events.
  • Commit to the program for one full session
  • Attend and participate in the compulsory training days and additional face-to-face and email communication
  • Attend the Faculty Welcome during Orientation
  • Complete 3 additional Orientation shifts including a library/ and or campus tour
  • Distribute emails to Mentees following professional online communication protocol
  • Provide online feedback
  • Attend Mentor Recognition Night

Upon completion, students receive a certificate.
