Teaching has gone online and so has academic writing and study support!
You can discuss your assignment with someone, search for resources, get feedback on a written draft, or find out more about writing different types of assignments. There's a range of online options available to all Macquarie students.
WriteWISE Peer Writing Leaders and Learning Advisers are available to discuss your assignments or study issues with you. There is no need to make an appointment.
You can discuss questions about:
It’s helpful to have your assignment questions, unit guides and/or marked assignments ready before your chat session.
Chat sessions are run from Weeks 2 to 12 during teaching weeks:
Chat sessions are also run during mid-session break:
Consultations do not:
WriteWISE Leaders are senior Macquarie students who are here to help you with your academic writing. Please be mindful that the advice given during a consultation is to assist you in your learning and that the instructions by your tutors and lecturers take precedence.
To start chatting with a WriteWISE leader or a Learning Adviser, click on the chat button at the bottom of this page. We strongly recommend that you connect to the chat service using the Chrome browser.
Our partner Studiosity is an external 24/7 online writing and study assistance service to provide you with one-on-one academic study help through e-consultations.
Studiosity offers two convenient services:
Studiosity is available to all MUIC, undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students. You can find links to Studiosity in the right-hand column of your iLearn units, in StudyWISE, and in the Academic Integrity Module.
Unfortunately, Studiosity is not available to HDR students. Expert writing advice for HDR students is provided by HDR Learning Skills.
All students have access to 20 free consultations per year (10 sessions from January to June and 10 sessions from July to December).
If you are having issues accessing Studiosity, please log an OneHelp ticket.
