Rural science education initiatives

Regional Outreach Volunteers travel to rural communities on a volunteer basis with a team from Macquarie to promote science education in the areas of physics and astronomy.

"This activity has been approved to be recognised on AHEGS as of October 2018. No retrospective recognition will be made prior to this approval date."

AHEGS qualification criteria

  • Attend briefing and training sessions as required
  • Students must be in at least their second year at Macquarie University
  • One trip to include a minimum of three rural communities
  • Must present to community groups in these areas as part of this commitment
