Enrolment Terms and Conditions
Once you have been admitted to Macquarie University, you are bound by our Terms and Conditions. Please read the statements below carefully to make sure you understand your responsibilities.
Below are the Terms and Conditions of your enrolment. They are a copy of the terms and conditions you agreed to in eStudent when you enrolled in your units.
You acknowledge and agree:
Enrolment
- to be honest, ethical and professional. Your behaviour must always be consistent with Macquarie University’s values and expectations as outlined in our Student Charter and the Student Code of Conduct;
- to pay all fees and charges in accordance with the Tuition Fees and Charges Rules;
- to keep your current residential address details, phone/ mobile number, personal email address and emergency contact details up to date in eStudent;
- that Macquarie University may use email and /or SMS messaging to provide you with information relevant to your studies, personal safety and otherwise;
- to access all information related to your study at Macquarie University and to check your University-assigned email address at least once a week;
- that you are responsible for informing yourself of, and complying with, your course requirements;
- that, if studying a course award, you enrol in units that are inconsistent with course guidance you are responsible for the consequences resulting from enrolment in those units including any related fees and penalties for enrolment, late enrolment and/or changing units;
- that you have read and understood the University's Academic Integrity Policy and to complete the Academic Integrity Module, if required for your course. Information to help you understand the Academic Integrity Policy can be found on the Academic Integrity web page;
- to, if required for your course, access iLearn, the University’s online learning environment, regularly to participate in the activities for each unit. Information to help you use iLearn can be found on the iLearn web page;
- that Macquarie University may change the tuition and/or other fees payable by you in accordance with its policies and procedures, including those required due to changes imposed under Australian Commonwealth or State legislation or regulation. Tuition fees are reviewed yearly and are subject to annual increase. Current tuition fees are available on the University Fees Calculator;
- that you are required to notify Services Australia of any change that may affect any government payment you receive;
- that Macquarie University may vary these Terms and Conditions. A notification of the variation will be sent to your Macquarie University email address, and the varied Terms and Conditions will be published on the University’s website. Where the Terms and Conditions refer to other documents, including University documents, these documents may be updated, changed or replaced from time to time without notification being sent to you. The University will endeavour to inform you of key changes but does not undertake to provide you with updates on any or all changes;
Privacy terms and conditions
- that you have read and understood Macquarie University's privacy framework. You understand that Macquarie University may collect, use and share your personal information in accordance with the Admissions and Enrolment and other applicable privacy collection notices that form part of our privacy framework;
- that you have read and understood the Campus Card requirements; and the Service NSW Transport Concession requirements and privacy information;
- to the receipt of those electronic messages for the purpose of the SPAM Act 2003 (Cth) and any corresponding regulations; and
- that Macquarie University can publish information about any awards and prizes you have been awarded and, where appropriate, the results for your honours program of study.
Declaration
You acknowledge and agree:
- That you have read and understood the terms and conditions of enrolment set out above
- That you consent to Macquarie University’s collection, use and disclosure of your personal information as described in the University’s privacy statements.
