Helping you transition into uni life
Whether you have just finished high school or TAFE, joined us from overseas, or haven’t studied in a while, we know that starting at university can be a big step!

If you're starting at Macquarie in Session 2 2021, find a Peer Mentor now and start connecting with them!
Benefits
Our Peer Mentors are senior students from your faculty, school or course who can help you to settle in and adjust to uni life during your first six weeks of study.
They'll provide you with regular support and advice, while helping you to:
- Navigating the learning environment, processes and systems.
- Meet new people and build your own networks at Macquarie.
- Keep informed and understand how to access the support services available at Macquarie.
- Find answers to questions and feel empowered to succeed academically and socially.
Find a Peer Mentor
- Visit the Macquarie University Mentors Network and click 'Join Program'.
- Log in using the 'OneID' button and enter your Student ID and password.
- Once you've signed in, you'll be able to see all our Peer Mentor profiles. Use the filter on the right-hand side to find a Peer Mentor from your course or faculty and check out their profiles to find out more about them.
- Favourite your top three Peer Mentors by clicking the ‘favourite’ button on their profile. Once you've done this, we'll check your favourites to make sure they’re the best match for you and we’ll send a message through the network to confirm your match.
- You’ll then hear from your Peer Mentor through the network within one to three business days and they’ll organise your first meeting. At this meeting, you can set some regular catch-ups, talk about your goals and get your questions answered.
