Our services

The Drop-In Centre offers free individual help with the Mathematics and Statistics component of any first-year subject. In particular, we help with:

  • all first-year Mathematics units
  • a selection of first-year Statistics units
  • first year Physics units
  • other first year units that have a maths component

When the centre is open students may drop in for free maths-related help or in preparation for a future course. No appointment is necessary.

Our Centre is staffed by both permanent academic staff and casual tutors. You can view the expertise of each tutor is advertised on our timetable.

No assignment questions will be answered, but students have access to:

  • a small library of mathematical books
  • material for self-study
  • professional help in the areas of greatest need.

Be sure to sign in by swiping your student card at the door so that we can keep records on when and how the Numeracy Centre is used, which would help us in our funding.

Timetable

View our timetable before you visit. A different timetable usually operates during exams, mid-session breaks and summer months. The operating hours of the Centre in December, January and February are normally limited to a few hours each week.
