Macquarie Kickstart Plus for Session 1 2024

For students who missed our on Macquarie Kickstart for Session 1 2024, we have put the essential modules on iLearn to help you familiarise and prepare for your time at Macquarie. These modules will help you transition into your academic studies and introduce you to the values and expectations at Macquarie.

Once on iLearn, you can self-enrol into the unit ‘MACQ2024’ to begin your journey at Macquarie.

There will also be stalls and activities for you to explore the student life at Macquarie.

MAC101: Tips to navigating your 1st session and year

Get a full picture insight into the vast social and academic dynamics as you’ll hear from current students on the tips and tricks. From getting connected to the university network to meeting new people, joining societies, and accessing support services.

Looking for a hassle-free way to connect your devices to the Macquarie University network? Be guided through the process step-by-step, it is the perfect opportunity to make sure you’re connect and have access to the resources you need.

From Butterflies to Brilliance: Public Speaking Workshop

Created by the Macquarie University Debating Society and Writing Centre. Designed to help you overcome your fear and anxiety, improve your delivery style, and engage your audience. Take your public speaking skills to the next level.

Need help or advice relating to the Kickstart modules? You are welcome to speak to experienced Macquarie students in a drop-in session.

These sessions will be running the first four weeks of session 1.

Time: 11AM – 2PM (Tuesdays – Thursdays)

Location: Ground floor, Room 2, 18 Wally’s Walk

As these are drop-in sessions, they are on a ‘first-come, first-serve’ basis. You will still need to book in the date for your chat.

With Kickstart Plus, there will be a small stall held from 11am – 2pm (Tuesdays – Thursdays), run by students to help you connect at Macquarie. There will be free snacks and resources available to students.

Join us outside 18 Wally’s Walk!

During the mid-session break, students will continue to have the self-enrolled unit available to them as a refresher.

Students will be able to have a chat with experienced Macquarie students about the modules via Zoom.
