Enrolment and your CoE

International students studying on an Australian student visa must complete the course they are enrolled in, as specified on the electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE).

This is your official document to show you have enrolled in a registered course, paid enrolment fees, and lists your start and end dates of your course, tuition fees and Overseas Student Health Care (OSHC) provider. Further information can be found on the Australian Government webpage.

Reduced Study Load and Suspension of Study are available to students if experiencing situations considered compassionate or compelling. You must seek approval from the University prior to making changes to your course.

Academic Standing – Pause and Exclusion

An international student visa holder is required to maintain satisfactory course progress. When satisfactory progress is not maintained your eCoE will be cancelled. If your Academic Standing is on Academic Pause, you will receive a letter from the University via your student email address informing you that you have not maintained satisfactory course progress. The University will notify the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) that you have not complied with student visa conditions, and you should contact DHA to ask about the impact on your student visa.

If you do not wish to return to your studies, you can advise the University via Service Connect.

Return after Academic Pause

To return to your studies with Macquarie University following your period of Academic Pause. You will be required to apply to return to your course via Admissions.
