During her activity with Restless Development India, Leesa Chen played an instrumental role in the organization's drive to provide a digital future for both urban and rural Indian communities.

At Restless Development India, Leesa assisted in cultivating sponsorships, leading workshops for youth leaders in New Delhi, and interviewing rural school principals, teachers and students.

Through her PACE activity and by engaging with the local community in Chennai, the notion of distance and unfamiliarity became irrelevant. Her activity highlighted that “we share similar aspirations to go further, make a difference and bring impact back into our communities, locally and abroad.”

Since her PACE experience, Leesa has been awarded the Westpac Future Leaders Scholarship and recently completed a Master of International Business at the University of Melbourne. In addition, Leesa was also the Subject Matter Expert supporting Bega Cheese's international markets and digital transformation of its supply chain.

Leesa’s PACE role prepared her with a mindset of embracing unfamiliarity and learning and working with everyone who aspires to make a difference in order to bring a positive impact into our communities – locally and abroad.

She is currently preparing to re-emerge back into international business to support businesses and governments in adapting to the new normal of a more volatile global environment.

When asked what advice she would provide to future PACE students, Leesa said, “Spend time with the local community, they have so much to teach you. When you get proximate, you are able to begin to understand the complexities that shape the local and global community.”
