Help improve campus life by becoming a member of the Student Representative Committee (SRC).

Elections

SRC members are elected for two-year terms. To become a member of the SRC you must be a current student at Macquarie.

Membership of the SRC will include:

  • Four (4) students enrolled in an undergraduate degree with one student chosen from each Faculty;
  • Two (2) students enrolled in a postgraduate by coursework degree (non-higher degree research );
  • Two (2) students enrolled in a higher degree by research;
  • One (1) enrolled overseas student studying offshore (as defined in the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000); and,
  • One (1) enrolled student that is not an Australian resident studying onshore studying onshore.
  • Up to two (2) appointed members from the pool of nominees to ensure diverse representation.

Members of the SRC will be democratically elected by students in each of the enrolled student categories detailed at clause 6. Where more than 10,000 students are enrolled in each student category, one additional student member will be elected to the Committee for every 10,000 students in each category.

A person cannot be and is not eligible to be a member, if the person:

  • during the previous two years has been subject to a disciplinary penalty of the University; or
  • is a fulltime employee of the University or any of its controlled entities; or
  • has been or is a declared bankrupt; or
  • has been found guilty of committing a crime; or
  • has been charged with a crime.
