Do I need to attend every day?

Macquarie Kickstart offers the flexibility to register for sessions that suit your availability.

We do recommend attending and participating in every step of Macquarie Kickstart to get the full onboarding experience. Each workshop being held during the week has been carefully crafted to cater to new students and prepare you for life at Macquarie.

What sessions should I attend?

Ideally, you’ll attend all of them! Think of it like this: the more sessions you attend, the more knowledge you gain – and the greater your chance of study success.

I can’t attend in person, will content be available online?

If you’re unable to attend in person due to work commitments, feeling unwell or you are an international student who has not arrived onshore yet, you’ll be pleased to know all sessions will be available online via iLearn following MAC 2024. We’ll make sure to record the sessions too, so you can access them anywhere, and at a time that suits you.

Workshops of the same module will also be delivered right through the week, if one happens to be full, try and register for another. If you can’t attend the alternative sessions, they will be available on iLearn following Macquarie Kickstart.

What should I bring with me to Macquarie Kickstart?

You will need:

  • A laptop or tablet
  • A smartphone or device to scan into each session
  • Your student ID
  • Water bottle. There are plenty of water stations around campus, so remember to bring a sustainable water bottle with you to fill up
  • Money, there are a wide range of food retailers on campus

My friends are registered in another session’s timeslot, can I swap?

We encourage you to attend the sessions that you have registered for as there will be ample opportunity to meet up with your friends throughout the week. As part of Macquarie Kickstart, you will be provided with the opportunity to make new friends, learn more about your course and settle into university life.
