Summer internship program

Tran Khoi Nguyen Nguyen, a Bachelor of Information Technology student, completed his internship this year with Charanya Ramakrishnan and Dr Amanda Head, to design an AI teaching tool for the Macquarie University Law School to support both staff and students with revision, reflection and marking.

The project was so successful that Tran has been offered a job with the Law School to maintain the system as it is rolled out to 1000 students across the year.

Anna Seibel, a Bachelor of Biodiversity and Conservation, completed a summer internship in 2023 with Ajay Narendra studying the biomechanics of jumping spiders.

Her internship not only gave her a taste of research life and laboratory experience, it also led to an interview with Australian Geographic and a journal publication. Download the full article.

Anna has since gone on to complete a Master of Research in Natural Sciences with a thesis entitled 'Home Among the Gum Trees: Visual Navigation in an Arboreal Jumping Spider'.
