Requirements for professional experience unit

Mandatory checks are prerequisites for professional experience placements. They ensure your compliance with compulsory legal obligations.

  1. Apply for a  WWCC number online and visit a Service NSW Centre to present your original identity documents.
  2. Once you have received your WWCC number, complete the Working with Children Check (WWCC) Acknowledgement on iParticipate under the “Forms” tab.
  1. Log into the Staff portal from education.nsw.gov.au.
  2. Scroll down to MyPL on right hand side of page and select.
  3. Search for Child Protection Awareness Training and complete the training – this training only needs to be completed once.
  4. Save your certificate of completion and upload to iParticipate.

Complete Work Health and Safety on iParticipate under the “Forms” tab.

Complete Professional Experience Code of Conduct on iParticipate under the “Forms” tab.

Additional checks for primary and/or secondary placements

  1. If you are a primary or secondary TES and have never completed the Tertiary Practicum Student Application (old WWCC Probity Declaration form), complete this new online Pre-service Teacher (PST) Registration Formsee resources.
    1. After submitting the Form, verify by clicking ‘confirm’ on the email you receive within two hours.
    2. Receive an email confirmation once your WWCC has been verified by the Probity Unit of the Department of Education (DoE). Save this email to your device.
    3. Complete the Placement Registration Completion Acknowledgement on iParticipate under the “Forms” tab.
  2. If you have previously completed the Tertiary Practicum Student Application (old WWCC Probity Declaration), you will still need to complete this new PST Registration Form
  1. Go to education.nsw.gov.au and complete this training for the current year.
  2. Complete this training each calendar year and upload to iParticipate accordingly.
  1. Complete ASCIA anaphylaxis e-training.
  2. Save your unsigned certificate of completion with expiry date.
  3. Validate your certificate at the school once you have demonstrated the correct use of a trainer EpiPen.
  4. Complete this training every two years and upload to iParticipate accordingly.
  1. You must meet LANTITE standard prior to enrolment into your second professional experience unit in undergraduate degree and final one in postgraduate.
    1. Undergraduate TES – must meet prior to EDST3000 Primary and EDST3010 Secondary
    2. Postgraduate – TES must  meet  prior to EDST8240
  2. Go to ACER and iLearn for information on LANTITE test window dates and resources.
  1. Complete Pre-service teacher acknowledgement form prior to placement.
  2. Submit this acknowledgement form to your placement school.
  1. Complete NESA Requirements Self Check Qualtrics Survey before your third-year placement.
  2. Take a screenshot of outcome (final page on the survey).
  3. Upload the screenshot to ‘NESA Requirement Self-Check’ under the ‘Checks’ tab on iParticipate.
