Changing your undergraduate course

If you want to change your course (including going from a single to a double degree, or double to a single degree), apply for a course transfer.

A course transfer allows you to change from your current undergraduate degree to a different undergraduate degree at Macquarie.

If you want to add, remove, or change a major or minor, apply for a Change of Major, Minor or Specialisation.

Before you apply

Here are some things to be mindful of before applying to change your course:

  • you will be transferred to the curriculum of the year you are applying to transfer your degree, and you will have a new WAM which will be calculated only from units taken within your new course
  • also includes adding a second degree to a single degree, or dropping from a double degree to a single degree
  • transferring to the latest curriculum may affect your fees
  • you can only move to an internal offering of a course
  • the Academic Standing from your old degree will be applied to your new degree

To be eligible you must:

  • Be admitted into an undergraduate bachelor’s degree at North Ryde (there is no process available for postgraduates)
  • Have effective enrolment (eg. Passed, Failed, Withdrawn grade) in your current course.
  • Not be currently excluded from the University.
  • Not have an Academic Standing of Academic Pause or Exclusion.
