Resume First Aid: Ask the Experts Panel
Wednesday 13 October, 5pm – 6pm, Online
Crafting a resume is a challenge for everyone, but even more so if you are unfamiliar with the Australian workplace context or English is not your first language. You need to stand out to employers and so don’t let your resume hold you back.
Turn your resume around and use it to land a job interview. Join our session with expert panellists. Ask questions and get specific tips and insights from careers and language specialists as well as MQ alumni who have successfully landed jobs after graduation. Kylie Ebert, Director Employability & Graduate Success, will be joined by:
- Vicki George, Careers & Employment Adviser
- Caitlin Field, Senior Learning Adviser
- Sina Rezvani Bidgoli, MQ graduate and Student Talent Adviser
- Erika Gomez-Lopez, International Student Support Officer
Prior to the session, we strongly encourage you to go to MyMQ Career Zone. Use CV Builder, CV360 and the other resources to help develop your resume and identify areas for attention. Send us your specific questions prior to the session at careers@mq.edu.au.
Study Australia Industry Experience Projects (SAIEP)
23 November – 10 December 2021
Are you interested in gaining real-world experience and expanding your professional network? Would you like an Australian Government endorsed certificate to add to your resume?
Macquarie University, in conjunction with Practera, is offering you the opportunity to work on a 2-week real-world work experience. The Study Australia Industry Experience Projects (SAIEP) offers student teams the opportunity to work on real industry projects with Australian and global employers for a two-week period.
Through this program, you will be taking on the role of ‘student consultants’ who will be required to commit to a minimum of 25 hours over the 2-week experience. Students have worked with past project clients including Infosys, FlyFreely and Synapse Medical to name a few. Students will virtually collaborate with their teams to complete the project and receive an Australian Government Certificate of Completion. Visit the SAIEP page for more information.
The next cohort will be running from 29 November to 10 December 2021 - with a mandatory orientation session on 23 November 2021. Don’t miss this amazing, and totally free, opportunity to connect both global and Australian industry clients to build on your #employabilityskills.
To apply, please complete the online form by 5:00 pm on Monday 25 October.
