Apply for SRC Grants for Students and Societies

The Student Representative Committee offers grants to students and student societies.

Individual Student Applicants

If you are an undergraduate student looking to attend a forum, conference, or event to improve your leadership skills and benefit the student community, you are encouraged to apply for this grant.

The SRC has previously funded students to attend international sporting events and conferences, such as those hosted by the United Nations and Global Voices.

The limit on these grants is restricted to $2000 and under. Students are encouraged to submit applications as early as possible to ensure the SRC time to appropriately review your grant.

Applications must be submitted at least 6 (six) weeks in advance of the event.

Student Groups and Societies Applicants

The Student and Society grant is open to applications from student groups seeking additional funding support from the SRC to host events.

In the past, the SRC has approved grants funding for events including; The Chess Society’s International Chess Festival and the Women Entering Business Society’s International Women’s Day Breakfast.

The limit on these grants is restricted to $2000 and under. Student Groups are encouraged to submit applications as early as possible to ensure the SRC time to appropriately review your grant.

Applications must be submitted at least 6 (six) weeks in advance of the event.

SRC Postgraduate Conference Applicants

The Postgraduate grant is available to postgraduate and HDR students who wish to attend domestic or international conferences.

In the past, the SRC has provided funding for students to attend international conferences including the AIESEC Daybreak Conference in Japan and domestic conferences such as the Australasian Evolution Society Conference.

For postgraduate grants the following limits apply:

Funding applications for attendance at domestic conferences must not exceed $750.

Funding applications for attendance at international conferences must not exceed $1500.

Individual students may apply for one (1) international conference per year, and two (2) domestic conferences. Discretion for additional grant funding may be granted in special circumstances.

Apply for a Postgraduate Conference Grant

Submitting an application

The Student & Societies Grant and the Postgraduate Conference Grants will require applications to include evidence of the costs and fees to be funded by the grant. This may include a spreadsheet of expenses, and screenshots of other costs to provide approximate quotes.

Students must respond to contact from the SRC or Dean of Students staff within 10 days (including weekends) to facilitate the timely processing of grants.
