The Student Representative Committee offers grants to students and student societies.
The Student Representative Committee (SRC) believes in encouraging professional development and enhancing student life through two types of grants:
If you are an undergraduate student looking to attend a forum, conference, or event to improve your leadership skills and benefit the student community, you are encouraged to apply for this grant.
We have previously funded students to attend international sporting events and conferences, such as those hosted by the United Nations and Global Voices.
Alternatively, if you would like to host an event on behalf of your student group to promote to the community, we can assist financially.
Examples of past events we have assisted are the Chess Society's International Chess Festival and the Women Entering Business Society's International Women's Day Breakfast.
The SRC typically does not fund over $2000 for these grants and it is encouraged to apply for a grant six weeks prior to the funds being required.
If you are a postgraduate student seeking to upskill by attending conferences, the SRC can provide a conference grant. You can apply for up to $750 for domestic or online conferences and $1500 for international conferences.
Postgraduate Conference Grants are conducted via "rounds". These are promoted through the SRC's social media channels.
Further dates can also be found on the grant application form, such as opening and closing of applications and notification of outcomes.
Postgraduate grant applications are reviewed the week after closing, during which you may be contacted by the SRC.
Both grants will require evidence of costs/fees; this will usually be via a screenshot of quotes. Providing sufficient evidence will highly influence the success of your grant application.
