Apply for SRC Grants for Students and Societies

The Student Representative Committee offers grants to students and student societies.

Who can apply for an SRC Grant

The SRC welcomes applications from both undergraduate and postgraduate students seeking to attend conferences (both domestic and international) or events to improve leadership skills which benefit the student community.

Individual students may apply for one (1) international conference per year, and two (2) domestic conferences. Discretion for additional grant funding may be granted in special circumstances.

  • Funding applications for attendance at domestic conferences must not exceed $750.
  • Funding applications for attendance at international conferences must not exceed $1500.

Grants are also available to Student Groups to fund student group events, for example attendance at domestic competitions or conferences. If you are applying on behalf of a Student Group, please ensure you provide relevant communication details for your student group (eg. group email address) and the Student Group bank account.

Previous approved SRC grants requests have included:

  • The Chess Society’s International Chess Festival
  • Women Entering Business Society’s International Women’s Day Breakfast.

SRC Grants are limited to $2000 and under.

Students and Student Groups are encouraged to submit applications for funding as early as possible to ensure the SRC have time to appropriately consider your request. At a minimum, requests for SRC grants need to be submitted at least 6 (six) weeks in advance of the event.

For group applications please contact srcsecretariat@mq.edu.au prior to the submission of your application.
