Apply for SRC Grants for Students and Societies

The Student Representative Committee offers grants to students and student societies.

Who can apply for an SRC Grant

The SRC welcomes applications from both individual students (e.g. for attending conferences) as well as student groups (eg. networking events) seeking to pursue initiatives which benefit the student community.

If you are applying on behalf of a student group, please ensure you provide relevant communication details for your student group (eg. group email address) and the student group bank account.

Previous individual grants approved have included:

  • Presenting at Australian Entomological Society Conference
  • Presenting at Australasian Society for Continental Philosophy Conference

Previous student group grants approved have included:

  • Women Entering Business Society’s Alumni Night
  • Debating Society’s Australasian Debating Championships

When determining how much funding to request, this will depend on the type of event and whether the committee would deem your costs to be reasonable. Keeping expenses to a minimum will improve the likelihood of approval.

Students and Student Groups are encouraged to submit applications for funding as early as possible to ensure the SRC have time to appropriately consider your request. At a minimum, requests for SRC grants need to be submitted at least 6 (six) weeks in advance of the event, however, approval and processing of funding may take up to 3 months.

Submitting an application

Applications for SRC Grants require evidence of the costs and fees to be funded by the grant. This must include an itemised list of expenses with supporting evidence as detailed in the grant application form.

Students must respond to contact from the SRC or Dean of Students staff within 10 days (including weekends) to facilitate the timely processing of grants. If we are not able to contact you then we may not be able to facilitate the grant.
