Build your confidence with WriteWISE
WriteWISE is a student-led service available to all undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students.
WriteWISE leaders are senior Macquarie students trained to provide academic writing support and to give advice on effective study strategies, such as managing your time and reading effectively.
WriteWISE leaders can help you with:
- academic writing
- analysingx assignment questions
- referencing
- study strategies
- strategies for research
WriteWISE leaders can't:
- give advice relating to course content
- provide proofreading or ‘fix up’ assignments for you
- teach English or help students with IELTS preparation. For IELTS preparation see the IELTS Test Centre and the Macquarie University College for English language courses.
WriteWISE Leaders are Macquarie students who are here to help you with your academic writing. Please be mindful that the advice given during a consultation is to assist you in your learning and that the instructions by your tutors and lecturers take precedence.
You can access WriteWISE consultations either online or on-campus through a drop in service or booked consultation. Each consultation is 20-25 minutes long. It’s helpful to have your assignment questions, unit guides and/or assignment draft ready before your consultation.

Come and see a WriteWISE leader at Learning Connect on the entry level of 18 Wally's Walk. There will be signs to help you find them. No bookings necessary.

Book a consultation with a WriteWISE leader to secure your spot. Click on the Book a Consultation button to book a date and time. On the day of your appointment, meet the WriteWISE Leader at Learning Connect on the entry level of 18 Wally’s Walk. There will be signs to help you find them.
