Find a Study Buddy and make learning fun together
The Study Buddy program helps you engage with your peers so you can feel more motivated and less alone.
Studying in an online environment can be challenging and might leave you feeling unmotivated and isolated. That's why Macquarie offers the Study Buddy Program, which can help you meet similar-minded peers and collaborate together throughout your studies.
Once you register for the program, we’ll match you with someone else studying the same or similar units as you, so you can connect and encourage each other through the session.
The Study Buddy program, brought to you by the Student Representative Committee (SRC) and funded by the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF), is open to all Macquarie students. We know that some of you are new to MQ and might not have had the chance to connect with other students in your units. Whether you need a bit of motivation yourself, want to help motivate your peers or just want to make a friend in your class, you should join the Study Buddies...and it's free!
How to register
- Register your interest and fill in your details. To be eligible for a Study Buddy, you must be currently enrolled in the subjects you request.
- We will match you with your Study Buddy based on your shared responses and will send an email to introduce you and share some helpful resources.
- You and your Study Buddy start to chat, plan to connect regularly and you’re done!
Meet your Study Buddy
We will introduce you to your Study Buddy via your student email address, so keep an eye out! It might take us a week or two to find you the right Study Buddy.
The platform you then use to communicate with your Study Buddy is up to you. See some options on the sign-up form or the FAQs page. The final way you connect is up to you and your Study Buddy.
