How to make changes to your personal details

Update your contact details

Current students can change their address and/or phone number in eStudent. Once you have logged in, click on 'My details'  then 'Contact details'.

Past students can notify the university through the alumni web community.

It is your responsibility to ensure their address is current and correct. All official university correspondence will be sent to your nominated address. The university will not accept responsibility for lost or undelivered mail if your address details are incorrect.

Change of personal details requests are usually processed within 5-10 business days. Processing times could be extended when correct documentation is not provided.

Change of name, date of birth, or gender

You can update your personal details via the Change of personal details form in AskMQ.

Changes to official information such as

  • first name
  • family name (surname)
  • date of birth
  • gender

require a certified photocopy of official documentation as supporting evidence. This must be provided in Truth before submitting the form.

The supporting evidence required to process these changes will be one of :

  • Official Government change of information documentation,
  • Birth certificate, marriage certificate, or passport in updated given name,  or
  • Supporting letter from your doctor or health practitioner

Change of name will be reflected on:

  • exam and tutorial roles
  • eStudent, transcripts, testamur and other official University documentation

You can also request to have your campus card and email address updated (free of charge) by adding a note your Change of personal details form to let Student Connect know you would like this done.

From the Change of personal details form you need to log in to Truth (a separate system) to upload your supporting documents then return to the Change of personal details form to continue your request.

Other personal details you can update

There may be other personal details you wish to update - these options are listed below and advise the supporting documentation required to make those changes. Please make sure any changes you make won't affect your visa, scholarship or any other aspect of your study.

Change of title, eg. Ms/Mx/Mr/Blank

Submit an AskMQ enquiry

  • this will be reflected on official correspondence from the University
  • no supporting documentation is required to make this change.
Update your preferred name

Submit a Change of personal details form

  • this will be reflected in iLearn, eStudent, exam and tutorial roles.
  • this will not be reflected on transcripts, testamur or other official University documentation
  • no supporting documentation is required to make this change.

You can also have your email address updated to your preferred name. Please let Student Connect know at the time of request if you would like this done as well.
