Employability

Transferable Skills

The traditional view of a PhD is that it is training for an academic career - for some this will be the preferred career path while others will be keen to explore and pursue other options. Regardless of career aspirations, in the 21st Century, it is crucial that individuals take responsibility for their own career and that, maintaining a high level of employability, is a continuous process.

Analysing personal and professional skills and attributes is the first step. Understanding industry sectors and employer needs is the next step.
