Learning skills

Learning skills

We offer a variety of services and resources to help you fill the gaps in your skill set, ranging from presentation skills to academic reading and statistical analysis.

These services are provided both by HDRO and the Library. In addition to resources and workshops, one on one consultations are available by request. Contact your faculty HDR learning skills adviser for information specific to your faculty.

HDR Learning Skills Unit & workshops

The HDR Learning Skills iLearn unit provides resources included videos, slides and links to new courses and workshops. Use your OneID to self-enrol now.

Additionally, you can find a direct link to all HDR Workshops here.

Data analysis and statistics support

A Statistical Consulting Service is run every Monday 11am - 2pm in Building E4A Room 529.

Bookings are preferred, or just turn up and wait to be seen.

Contact Associate Professor Peter Petocz to book.

Library skills

The Library offers a wealth of research support to help you keep up to date in your field, manage references and track the impact of your research. Check out their online resources or book an appointment with your faculty research librarian.

Teaching support

Many HDR candidates are asked to teach during the course of their studies. The Learning and Teaching Centre offers a range of free on-campus and online workshops both for those new to teaching and for those seeking to improve. There are also workshops for setting up and managing online units using iLearn.
