BPhil/MRes Y1 coursework enrolment
The information below is for BPhil/MRes Year 1 candidates only. MRes Y2, MPhil and PhD candidates will be enrolled into their research unit by the Office of Higher Degree Research Training and Partnerships.
BPhil/MRes Y1 coursework enrolment
Before enrolling into coursework units, BPhil/MRes Y1 candidates are required to complete the following steps:
- Read the Unit Information and Enrolment Patterns and view the available units in Macquarie’s Handbook (search for Bachelor of Philosophy and select your faculty).
- Complete a BPhil/MRes Unit Selection Form (USF).
- Consult with your departmental MRes Advisor/Director regarding your unit selection. They must approve your USF.
Once your Unit Selection form has been approved, you should proceed to enrol into your units via eStudent. If this is the first time you are using eStudent, your password is your date of birth (ddmmyyyy). For password and log in assistance, please contact the IT Service Desk.
It is critical that you enrol only in those units that were approved on your USF by your MRes Advisor/Director. This is to ensure your units form a coherent study plan and that you will meet the minimum requirements of the Year 1 program. Failure to do so may result in delays to your study, and subsequent progression to Year 2 of the Master of Research Program.
Once enrolled, we recommend you download and retain a copy of your Enrolment and Registration Advice (ERA) from eStudent. This is a record of your enrolment for the semester. You should proceed to register for your classes in eStudent in order to create your personalised timetable.
If you need help enrolling in eStudent, check out Tutorial 5 below:
If you are having technical problems enrolling in your units, please contact the HDR Commencements Team: firstname.lastname@example.org
After you have enrolled in your units, you may then organise your class time table:
Any class timetabling issues should be directed to your Faculty HDR Administration office. Classes formally commence on Monday, 24 February 2020. Please refer to the 'calendar of dates' for more important dates throughout your program.
eStudent will be a valuable resource throughout your studies at Macquarie University. You will be able to view your fees (or HECS contributions) and examination outcomes on this website. Please note that it is the responsibility of all students to ensure that current contact details are registered on eStudent and are kept up-to-date at all times. For International students, this is a visa requirement.
If you wish to make any changes to your units or advanced topics selection within the first 2 weeks of semester, please complete a Change of Unit/Advanced Topic form. Approval from the MRes Advisor/Director must be obtained before any changes can be made to enrolment in eStudent. Changes must be completed before the relevant census date each semester. Please refer to our Important Dates for enrolment opening dates and Census dates.
If you have questions regarding scheduling or unit information please contact your Faculty HDR Administration Team. If the change involves more than one discipline/faculty, you will be required to consult with, and arrange a signature of approval from both departmental MRes Advisors.
