Become a mentor or access support

Are you a Higher Degree Research (HDR) student looking to be a mentor or to access mentoring and peer to peer support? The HDR Mentors program offers a range of opportunities to enhance your research experience at Macquarie.

Due to the recent developments regarding the COVID-19 situation in Australia, HDR Mentors have moved all face-to-face events and meetings to online platforms such as Zoom. We are committed in actively creating new and improved ways of connecting and interacting with the HDR community! For more information regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19), refer to the University's COVID-19 website for the latest updates.

The HDR Mentor program is a platform for HDR students to:

  • Increase the formation of a research community, reduce the sense of isolation, and increase the intellectual climate.
  • Improve peer level support, and foster a scholarly community between MRes and PhD candidates.
  • Improve HDR student experience, and promote feeling of belonging.
  • Create a networking opportunity between MRes, PhD candidates, faculty staff members, and alumni and industry.
