HDR Mentors Presents: Submitting your Thesis with Confidence 2017!

Clueless about how should you go about planning for your thesis? Wonder how should you format your thesis? What are examiner appointments and what is the process for thesis submission when you are in your final year of study? What can I expect when I am at the final stages of my PhD or MRes?

To provide insights into these questions, the HDR mentors invite you to participate in a discussion forum “Submitting your thesis with confidence 2017” on 30^th May 2017. A panel of PhD HDR mentors will be addressing some the above questions and other queries that you might have in this discussion forum. This forum is designed in hopes to convey and share to our fellow HDR students the experience of individuals who have submitted their thesis in our university. Do come along and participate in this forum to learn, relax and more importantly, be confident in completing and submitting your thesis. It will also be a great opportunity for you to meet other fellow HDR students and be involved in the research community! This discussion forum is open to all students regardless of their field of study, candidature and year of study.

Everyone is welcome, even if you don’t have any questions at the moment. May be you have answers? This is a peer-to-peer sharing forum designed to address all of the challenges centred on MRes and PhD thesis preparation and submission. Issues ranging from: planning your thesis, writing up, stress and anxiety issues to the final stage before submission will be the focus of this forum.

Opportunity to submit your questions

Apart from listening and sharing your experience at the forum, you are also welcome to submit questions pertaining to thesis preparation and submission prior to the forum. We will try to include them and provide answers during the discussion forum. Be sure to include your name and your department/faculty along with your questions! We also welcome anonymous questions if you prefer not to have your name disclosed. Please send your questions with the subject “Q&A, Submitting your thesis with confidence 2017” by 23^th May 2017 to hdrmentors@mq.edu.au.
