Graduate certificate, graduate diplomas and master degrees

Domestic and international students can further their studies through our postgraduate study offer.

These flexible programs involve attendance at lectures and tutorials, with a choice of classes during the day, in the evening, or weekend intensive courses.

Our coursework programs can lead to three different types of accreditation:

Graduate Certificates and Graduate Diplomas

Macquarie University also offers graduate diplomas, which can take from six months to one year to complete, and graduate diplomas which take a year to complete.

A graduate certificate offers core units of study. A graduate diploma offers additional units that help you expand your knowledge.

These are embedded qualifications, which means that if you decide to undertake a higher qualification afterwards, these two qualifications will count towards it.

Find more information on the graduate certificates and diplomas we offer on our course search page by filtering for course type.

Master

One year Master degrees

To prepare you for the future, we have created a course structure that allows you to graduate sooner and complete a Master degree in as little as 1 year.

Depending on your prior qualifications, work experience, or other recognised prior learning, you may be eligible for a 1-year admission point. The 1-year admission point only requires you to complete the Core Zone units, covering the specific disciplinary or professional requirements of the course.

Double Master degrees

Macquarie offers more than 60 double Master degrees which can:

  • help you complete both degrees in less time than you would undertaking both degrees on their own.
  • increase your career flexibility and have greater employment prospects.
  • feed your curiosity while gaining two high-quality qualifications.
