School and scout groups

afa logoThe Association for Astronomy at Macquarie University offers Monday and Friday night telescope viewing at our astronomical observatory (excluding public holidays). Sessions run from 8:00-9:30 pm during daylight saving time, and 7:00-8:30 pm during the rest of the year. These sessions are open to the general public as well as School and Scout groups. We also run planetarium sessions on the first Thursday of every month, from 6:00-7:00 pm. These sessions are open to the general public as well as School and Scout groups.

Private Sessions for Schools and Scout Groups

Schools and Scout groups are also able to book private observatory and planetarium sessions for weeknights other than Monday and Friday nights. We are able to tailor events so Scouts of all levels and ages can learn what they need for their astronomy and space badges. Sessions for school groups can be built around the school curriculum, or simply to catch the interests of a student of any age.

Any School or Scout group that wishes to book a private session for a weeknight other than a Friday night, can email starinfo@mq.edu.au to arrange a date and further details.Full information and prices are available in this leaflet.
