Our Primary program is recognised for its emphasis on the scholar-teacher, reflective classroom practice and our innovative evidence-based Professional Experience Program. There are two main patterns of study leading to a primary teaching qualification.
The first pathway integrates a student’s academic and professional studies within a double-degree, either the BABEd(Primary) or the BA – Psych BEd(Primary). The second pathway is a graduate entry program, the Bachelor of Education (Primary)
In these programs Teacher Education Students focus on academic studies in Education, English, HSIE-related disciplines, Mathematics, Science, PDHPE and the Arts. This focus provides their Key Learning Areas content knowledge and a platform from which to develop knowledge of education and teaching. Later, theoretical studies are integrated with professional units from the Teacher Education Program (TEP and EDTE units). Learn more.
