Benefits of studying with us

Studying with us can allow you to close the gap in Indigenous education and develop the skills and knowledge to provide culturally appropriate education to Indigenous Australian students and teach non-Indigenous students about Indigenous issues, people and culture.

Our law, security and intelligence focus aims to look beyond law as a set of rules, allowing you to think about problems and provide innovative solutions.

We also offer programs in media, creative arts and communication with traditional communication practices. This includes the disciplines of writing, dance, music, screen production, management, games design and communication to set you up for a career in the new media landscape.

Our courses in society, history and languages help you see the bigger picture.

Undergraduate

Macquarie is renowned for its flexible approach and our Bachelor of Arts is the perfect example. With  over 40 majors, it's a degree designed by you! The flexibility means you can explore ideas across disciplines, allowing you to find topics that you are passionate about and which challenge you.

If you have been made an offer into an undergraduate course, you'll need to accept your offer and enrol. As the beginning of semester approaches, come along to O week to find your feet, find out more about managing your study program, explore PACE opportunities and tap into academic advice and support available throughout your degree.

Postgraduate

The Faculty of Arts is a diverse and thought-provoking arena for your postgraduate study. Our courses broaden your outlook and provide analytical and research skills which will prove valuable to you in all your professional activities. In many cases you can begin with a graduate certificate or graduate diploma and work your way up to a masters.

We offer two types of postgraduate study: postgraduate study by coursework and postgraduate study by research.

If you have been offered a position into a postgraduate course, you will need to enrol and attend the applicable orientation or commencement programs. It’s important to be aware of any fees and costs associated with your degree, as well as scholarship opportunities available. Then it’s time to manage your coursework program, or research program.
