Applying for academic approval for credit overload

Credit overload allows students to study more than the standard number of credit points per study period.

Apply

Submit a credit overload form which will be then forwarded to the appropriate faculty for approval before being processed by Student Connect.

Assessment procedure

Each application is assessed on the student's:

  • academic history
  • reason for the overload request
  • the combination of units the student wishes to undertake during the overloaded session.

After approval

Once an application is approved and processed, you will be unable to alter your enrolment for that session.

If you withdraw from a unit you have been granted an overload for previously, you will not be able to enrol in that extra unit again without submitting a new credit overload form.

You will be notified of the outcome of your application via your student email account.

When to submit

Credit overload requests for the upcoming session(s) must be submitted by close of business Friday, Week 1 of the study period.
