Before enrolling
In order to enrol as an international student, you need to make sure you:
- Accept the offer for the course you want to enrol in by signing the letter of offer and sending it via email.
- Accept the Terms and Conditions.
- Note: even if you have accepted them when you last enrolled, they may have been updated since.
- Request a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessment, which is part of your application for admission.
Your Student ID
Your eight digit Student ID is at the top of your offer letter. This is necessary for you to enrol. If you are a new student, you need to activate your Student ID to access Macquarie University systems.
Enrolling
Enrolling means choosing your units to study in the first semester.
- Log in to eStudent and update your personal details.
- Click on 'My Enrolment'. If you cannot see this tab, it might be because you have a conditional acceptance (you have some documents pending). It will be activated as soon as you send all documents.
- Choose the relevant study plan (degree). This is very important if you have multiple offers.
- Choose the units you want to take this semester. Make sure to check your Course Handbook and our choosing units page to know whether:
- you have met the prerequisites
- the unit is offered in the study period you wish to enrol in
- the unit meets your course requirements.
- For each unit you want to choose, click on it and then click on 'enrol'.
- Click on 'My Classes'.
- Check the class timetables options available and choose the ones you want.
Note: As an international student, you are required to be on a full-time study load, which means you need to take 4 units per session. Make sure you enrol in 4 units so you don't breach your student visa conditions.
