To apply for a Course Transfer, you need to meet with an MQ College Student Advisor to determine your eligibility. This meeting must occur by the end of Week 3 of the current Term to allow enough time to process your transfer so you can commence in the following Term. Check the MQ College Important Dates so you don't miss this deadline.
At this meeting you will discuss your reasons for transfer and your eligibility will be confirmed if appropriate. You may also be required to do further research and return for a follow-up meeting.
If you are eligible to apply for a Course Transfer, the Advisor will assist you to complete the transfer.
Book your meeting with a MQ College Student Advisor.
If you meet the eligibility requirements above and you are eligible to apply for course transfer by your Advisor, your request must still undergo approval. This is to ensure that you are prepared for this new phase of your studies and that the transfer is in your best interests.
When we consider approving a Course Transfer, we take many factors into consideration, such as:
Please note that Course Transfer applications take time to process, and some applications may need to be put on hold until after results for each Term are released. Please wait at least 3–4 weeks after you have submitted your application before enquiring about its progress.
If you are denied a transfer, we will send a message to your student email account to advise why.
If approved, you will be notified via your student email. The email will outline your next steps, including accepting the offer for your new course and enrolling and registering in classes in your new course, which will start from the commencement of the next Term.
Domestic students must complete a new HECS-HELP form online via eStudent before you are able to enrol into your units. You will also need to submit a new separate SA-HELP form if you are eligible and wish to defer your Student Amenities Fee for your new degree.
If you are an International Student Visa Holder, please complete an online CoE application for a revised CoE for your new course.
If you have completed any units in your original course that are also part of your new course, you will receive recognition of prior learning for them and you will not need to study those units again.
Please note that if you are enrolled in any units at the time you are approved, then your transfer can only be processed once results for the current Term you are studying are released.
