Experiential Credit

Experiential Credit

The GLP’s Experiential Credit provides the opportunity to put theory into practice by completing an academic or extra-curricular activity with a cross-cultural, international, innovation, or leadership focus. Step outside of your comfort zone and develop important personal and professional skills. As part of your experiential credit you could:

  • Do an internship
  • Learn a language
  • Study abroad
  • Volunteer locally, regionally or internationally
  • Mentor others
  • Serve as an executive in a Macquarie club or society

The options are endless. Complete an activity on campus, in your local community, or around the world and have the freedom to organise around your busy lifestyle - from the day you start the GLP to the day you finish your degree.

Previous GLP students have:

  • Embarked upon a session-long cultural exchange to Hong Kong, studying international law and human rights
  • Gained experience working in a start-up at the Macquarie University Incubator
  • Demonstrated leadership as an International Student Ambassador
  • Inspired high school students from a refuge background as a LEAP Mentor
  • Competed in the Google Case Competition looking to improve STEM education in regional schools
  • Networked at a conference on design, technology and social change and the future of work
  • Interned in international investment and trade for the UK government
