Innovative Leaders Series

Innovative Leaders Series

The Innovative Leaders Series (ILS) aims to inspire an innovative and entrepreneurial spirit, providing you with access to the lessons and insights of successful leaders that have resulted in positive change through innovation and leadership.

This annual event is held at the Macquarie University North Ryde campus, and hosts GLP students, and members of the wider Macquarie community for a keynote address, followed by Q&A and a facilitated networking session with drinks and canapés.

Both the event and keynote speakers are reflective of the feedback we have received from students. You want access to pioneering leaders from diverse disciplines, backgrounds and motivations, to provide you with practical tips and tools that can be applied to your personal and professional lives.

50/50 Gender Pledge

Soon after Dr Jason Fox delivered the inaugural Innovative Leaders Series event in Session 1 2016, he made a public declaration along with a group of other popular male speakers to boycott all-male panels and protest lack of female representation.

GLP acknowledges Macquarie University’s commitment to create greater equality between women and men at work, and is committed to supporting gender equity. In line with this and inspired by Dr Jason Fox’s declaration, in 2016 the GLP made the following pledge:

Each year the GLP pledges to engage at least one male and one female Innovative Leader to speak at our two annual ILS events.
