The Women's Room is a women-only safe and friendly environment on campus. It offers an opportunity for women to rest, reflect, socialise and study. All women are encouraged to be a part of this space. Boys under 12 years old are also welcome when accompanied by a woman.

Location: Level 3 of the Campus Hub Building, C10A, at the very end of the hallway opposite the Boyd Room.

Resources

The Women's Room has wifi access, and there are couches and coffee tables so that you can relax and get comfortable.

There is a comprehensive women's library with both fiction and non-fiction.

Contraception and sanitary protection are available for free.

Information and support is provided on a range of topics including:

  • sexual health and contraception
  • women's health
  • counselling options
  • childcare
  • drugs, alcohol, and/or gambling
  • relationships
  • domestic violence
  • sexual assault
  • adjusting to life at university
  • stress management

International Women's Day was celebrated at Macquarie University!

International Women's Day (8 March) is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future.  Macquarie University will showcase talents of Macquarie women and raise awareness about the day.  This event will feature musical performances by Macquarie female students in the Central Courtyard.

During Semester:

Monday - Thursday: 9.00am - 7.00pm
Friday - 9.00am - 6.00pm

Recess and Exams:

Monday - Friday: 9.00am - 5.00pm

Women's Collective

The Women's Collective meets in the Women's Room during semester to discuss women's issues in the media, run events, or discuss challenges and concerns women have on campus. The Women's Collective will also be able to liaise directly with the Women's Officer on MUSRA, putting forward their suggestions and ideas for how to make life better and more fun for women on campus.
